Privacy Policy — MiCarinderia
Effective 7 September 2026
MiCarinderia is a sales and inventory app for a small food stall. This policy explains what it stores, what leaves your device, and what it does not do.
The short version: your records stay on your tablet. There is no MiCarinderia server, no account to create, and no copy of your books anywhere but the device in your hand and any backup you choose to make yourself.
What the app stores on your device
Everything the app records is kept in a database file on the device itself:
- Your shop’s name and appearance settings
- Dishes, categories, prices, cost, and stock
- Sales, orders, and the records of each trading day
- Utang (credit) accounts — the customer’s name, and optionally a phone number and a note, if you enter them
- The names and roles of anyone you add to help run the stall
- A scrambled form of your PIN and recovery word, from which the original cannot be read back
What leaves your device
Your records, nothing automatically. The app does not transmit your sales, your customers, or your figures anywhere. Nobody — including the developer — receives them.
The free version does include Google AdMob, which shows a short advert to a free-plan seller who chooses to watch one (see Advertising below). Showing an advert needs an internet connection, and Google receives standard advertising data when it happens. That data never includes your business records. Sellers who unlock the paid version see no adverts and load nothing from AdMob.
Your own information leaves the device only when you send it:
- Backups you create, saved on the device and shared wherever you choose
- Exports to Excel, PDF or CSV, shared the same way
Once you send a backup or export somewhere — a messaging app, an email, a memory stick, a cloud drive — it is covered by that service’s terms, not by this policy.
Your customers’ information
If you record a customer’s name or phone number against an utang, that information is yours and stays on your device. It is never sent to the developer or to anyone else.
Because it is personal information about another person, the responsibility for looking after it is yours. Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, a business that keeps records about identifiable people is responsible for keeping them safe and for using them only for the purpose they were given. In practice, for a carinderia, that means: record only what you need to collect the debt, keep the tablet secure, and remove the account when it is settled and no longer needed.
Payments
If you choose to unlock the paid features, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play or the App Store, according to which shop your device uses.
The app never sees, receives, or stores your card details, bank details, or any other payment information. It is told only whether a purchase exists on your store account, which is what allows the same unlock to work on your other tablet signed in to that same account.
Google’s and Apple’s own privacy policies cover what those companies do with payment information:
- Google Play — https://policies.google.com/privacy
- App Store — https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Advertising
The free version can show a short video advert when a seller on the free plan chooses to watch one in order to look back over earlier months. Watching is always the seller’s choice, and an advert is only ever loaded at that moment. Sellers who unlock the paid version see no adverts at all, and the app loads nothing from the advertising network for them.
Adverts are provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure an advert, Google collects information such as the device’s advertising identifier, IP address, and general device and app information. Google uses this to deliver adverts, limit how often the same one is shown, and to measure and prevent fraud. This is standard for AdMob, and how Google handles it is described in its own policies:
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services — https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Google Privacy Policy — https://policies.google.com/privacy
An advert needs an internet connection, so the app requests internet access for this purpose. Your sales, your customers, and your business records are never part of an advert request — AdMob receives none of them.
You can reset your advertising identifier or turn off ad personalisation in your device settings (on Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
Analytics
The app measures nothing about how you use it, beyond what Google AdMob needs to deliver and protect its adverts, described above. There is no separate analytics or usage tracking.
Children
MiCarinderia is a tool for running a business and is not directed at children.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes its database and everything in it from the device. The app also has a reset function that clears your records while keeping it installed.
Neither can reach backups or exports you have already sent elsewhere. Those are yours to delete wherever you put them.
Deleting is permanent. There is no copy held anywhere to restore from, apart from backups you made yourself.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
